UNIC Company Calls to Support Ukrainian Sport During the War
April 18, 2025 in Kyiv, at the MIDGARD educational space, a unique event took place — the largest fencing lesson in the history of Ukraine.
91 participants — children and coaches — simultaneously took to the piste.
The event was organized by the Ukrainian brand Unic Fencing and was officially registered as a National Record of Ukraine.
But this record is not about numbers. It's about the value of sport in a country at war. And about those who don't wait for change but create it with their own hands.
Who We Are: A Ukrainian Brand That Believes in the Future of Sport
Unic Fencing is a manufacturer of fencing equipment from Kharkiv, used by Olympic champions worldwide.
We don't just create gear — we invest in the development of Ukrainian sport, support coaches, launch clubs, and open schools.
Today's efforts are tomorrow's victories on the world stage.

Why We Do It: Sport in Frontline Regions Is on the Brink of Disappearance
Today, children's sports in the frontline regions of Ukraine — Kharkiv, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson — are under threat.
State sports schools are either partially destroyed or not operating at all. This is especially true for fencing — a sport that cannot be moved online and requires a safe space.
Due to security risks, the state cannot guarantee in-person training. Thus, sections remain only in private clubs — which are inaccessible to many families.
Meanwhile, there's an outflow of young talents abroad. Even those who win international competitions under the Ukrainian flag are forced to leave the country after turning 18 due to the lack of conditions for professional growth.
We risk losing an entire generation of champions if we don't act now.
Free Fencing School in Kharkiv — A Working Solution
In 2024, Unic Fencing opened a free fencing school in Kharkiv. Here, children and adults have the opportunity to train regularly and for free during martial law.
We cover all expenses — hall rental, coaches' work, equipment. Yet, despite this, the school is only 30% full.
That's why we held this National Record. To remind everyone: fencing is alive. It's accessible. And it's important.
It's a sport that teaches respect, self-discipline, strategic thinking, and helps children cope with stress during wartime.
Unic Fencing: We Build an Environment Worth Staying In
“We create sports clubs because we want our children to stay at home and train here — in Ukraine.
So that those who were forced to leave know: there's a place to return to.
We do this so that athletes and coaches don't leave, but feel that they are needed.”
— Viktoria and Yevhen Myrhorodski, founders of Unic Fencing
The brand is also the general sponsor of the Fencing Federation of Ukraine, supports young athletes and coaches, and actively invests in initiatives aimed at restoring sports infrastructure.
